ADVANCE: OPTIMIZED MANUFACTURING TECHNOLOGY

Industry is the means by which the large-scale, low-cost manufacturing of products is possible. As the demand grows, increasingly more goods must be produced industrially to warrant an affordable price.

The basis of industrial production is the rationalization and automation of processes… technically simple and cost effective solutions to increase productivity, repeatability, and quality.

Ford conceived the first assembly line for automobile production in October 1913 at its factory in Highland Park, Michigan. The time required to assemble the vehicle decreased from the initial 12.5 hours to just 93 minutes. At the same time, the price was reduced by a 60% (from 900USD to only 300USD).

Gradually, production lines, as well as assembly and measuring fixtures, became popular as the industry began to soar.

However, over the decades, industrial production became more and more complex and expensive… excessively sophisticated… from a means to an end, they became an end in itself…and a big business for some.

At the same time it also became a way for reducing labor, and therefore, somewhat polemic.

It is important to cap the use of high complexity solutions for the simplification of industrial production, because the solution is becoming way more complex and expensive than the very problem it is bound to solve.

We should use ingenuity and creativity instead of increasingly sophisticated and expensive equipment, with it´s licenses, consumables and expensive spare parts with long delivery times, as well as ever more specialized operators and maintenance personnel…

In a well designed production facility, the quality of the product is in no relation to the cost and complexity of the assembly line.

SOLUTIONS ENGINEERING, COMMON SENSE AND INGENUITY

Solutions Engineering is the branch of science and technology that deals with design, build, and implementation of solutions to technical and industrial problems—sometimes hidden—that negatively impact the economic and technical performance of companies and ventures.

We offer Solutions Engineering focused on streamlining processes and products, based on
experience, common sense, and ingenuity.

If the product is not designed for the production line, the production line must be designed for the product. …but in an ideal world, they are made one for another.

OBJECTIVES …WHAT WE OFFER

Proactive, corrective, and preventive Solutions Engineering, focused on streamlining production methods, processes, and products, with decades of experience in several branches of industry.

From the very beginning, thanks to our extensive experience, we can anticipate and prevent a wide range of situations. The impact is significant!.

Detecting and remedying technical problems that—sometimes—have been present for years, that are viewed as something inevitable, or were «disguised» by previous attempts at solutions, only to reappear as all new and independent problems.

● To optimize and simplify processes, reducing costs and manufacturing times, preferably with existing machinery.

● Wherever possible, to modify, adapt, and optimize products, making them more suitable
for the manufacturing process on existing (or planned) machinery.

● To adapt, optimize or build new production equipment to suit the product and it´s specific
needs.

● To modify, build, or optimize control and measurement fixtures to monitor and control the
quality of processes and products, raw materials, and purchased parts.

SPECIAL-PURPOSE MACHINES

On demand, we also design and build Special-Purpose Machines to perform very specific tasks, that are «married» to a specific product or process.

With their precision, speed and efficiency, they surpass every universal-purpose machine.

For example, a CNC milling machine is a general-purpose (not specialized) machine.
In some cases, it may be used for mass production; in others, not.

That is because it’s like a «Swiss Army Knife»…
…it can be used in the kitchen, but a chef´s knife would work better;
…it’s useful for cutting wood, but a hacksaw is more practical;
…it can be used for plumbing, but pliers are more advantageous;
…it has many applications, but it never performs like a specialized tool.

In contrast, a special-purpose machine offers:
…lower cost
…better precision
…higher speed
…are more durable
